It has been quite a 24-year ride (plus one month, two days & four hours -- though who's counting?). I am grateful for the fun it's mostly been. I hope for better, happier days for all who remain.
Off to the next adventure: trying my hand at freelancing & a low-residency MFA program at Bennington College.

ReplyDeleteSorry if this isn't the right place to ask, but could anyone recommend an attorney to look through this package of lawyerspeak? My situation is somewhat unique, from what I've seen so far, and want to make sure that agreeing to do what I've been asked does not compromise me. Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help.
ReplyDeleteIf nothing else works you can try to find appropriate counsel through Texas Accountant and Attorneys for the Arts, a pro-bono legal and business group aimed at helping individual creatives and arts organizations: http://talarts.org/. They are based in Houston, but I bet they have participants in DFW.

ReplyDeleteBabb is one of the few bona fide labor lawyers with a long history in Dallas.
Shropshire may still be working one of the individual lawsuits from the 2004 layoffs. Dunno now, but tell her you see the spinning ballerina turning both ways, and she may help you. Her husband is a former DMN writer, I think. Nice person (for a lawyer).
