Purpose: Under the general direction prepares, writes and edits various communications instruments for the company.
Supervisory Role: N/A
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assists in the annual communications development plan for the organization.
2. Prepares internal communications, such as company newsletter, bulletins, letters, and other communiques.
3. Prepares policy and procedure communications, including policy statements, training materials, and other communiques&ea cute;s.
4. Prepares Employee Handbook, Employee Housing Handbook, and other similar company documents.
5. Prepares Desk Guides for the Human Resources Departments.
6. Writes media scripts and oversees production of such materials (i.e., CD-ROMS, videos, DVDs).
7. Handles media management issues, when needed, preparing appropriate responses and seeking appropriate approvals.
8. Coordinates and assists in the development of materials for website Internet and Intranet sites.
9. Coordinates events such as Service Award programs and other public forums, to include research and preparation for remarks and/or speeches.
10. Coordinates Employee Forums and handles written responses to questions.
11. Performs other related tasks as directed.

Yes, it's very hot (up to 130 degrees and NOT always a dry heat) and sandstorms are a b@#$%, but the good thing about this particular position is you work near Kuwait City and not at the Army post (which is hotter and dustier).

LECTURER, COMMUNICATION/ JOURNALISM
THE Department of Communications and Theatre Arts invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of Lecturer.
REQUIRED: (1) Master's degree in Journalism or a related field from a regionally accredited university. (2) Ability to teach new media construction and operation. (3) The candidate must have 18 graduate hours for every field in which they will teach. (4) The candidate will have the potential for or actual successful teaching at the university level.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (1) Experience in journalism and radio and television fields. (2) Must be familiar with journalism and radio-television software such as Final Cut, Final Draft, Cool Edit, Quark Xpress, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. (3) Must be familiar with "New Media" technology and software for on-line media.
The department expects to hire a generalist in communication. The position consists of teaching 8 courses a year (4/4 load each semester) and assisting with the instruction in the basic journalism and radio-TV lab courses (sharing duties with other faculty members). Quality teaching, recruitment of students, professional experience, and committee service are expected. The applicant may also expect to assist the adviser of both the print and on-line editions of the student newspaper. Summer teaching a possibility but not guaranteed.
Salary commensurate with experience, based on a nine-month contract
